Core Engineering Services

Multi-physics analysis and simulation

Multi-physics simulation covering performance, thermal, mechanical, fluid and combustion behaviour. Used to expose design limits early, validate architecture decisions and reduce reliance on physical prototyping. Tools include GT-SUITE, GT-Power, Ansys, FEMFAT, Converge, Ansys Fluent, Star-CCM+ and Simulink.

Engineering design

Engineering design across components, sub-systems and integrated systems. Covers concept definition, detailed design, packaging, manufacturability and design-for-reliability. CAD platforms include PTC Creo, Siemens NX, SolidWorks and Inventor.

Feasibility and concept studies

Structured feasibility studies that name the main technical risks, test the key assumptions and recommend a route into detailed design or prototype. The output is a written engineering summary that supports funding, sign-off and procurement decisions.

Prototype and development support

Planning and technical support for prototype builds, testing activities and development programmes. Includes commissioning, correlation of measured data against simulation, and practical support through to production scale-readiness.

Test rig engineering and strategy

Design and development of dynamic test rigs, including electro-hydraulic and motorised systems, instrumentation, data acquisition and controls. Focused on measurement quality, repeatability and correlation with the wider programme.

Controls, electronics and embedded software

Control systems, electronics and embedded software work across motor controllers, inverters, sensors, HMIs, data loggers, firmware, schematic capture, PCB layout and prototype manufacture.

Technical substantiation for IP and funding

Engineering evidence packaged to support patents, funding rounds, investor due diligence and gateway reviews. Technical content is prepared to be defensible under external scrutiny.

Yes. Every engagement is structured so that design ownership, patents and commercial rights remain with the client throughout the programme.

A feasibility study is a shorter, more focused engagement. It names the main technical risks, tests key assumptions and recommends a route forward. A full engagement picks up from there into design, analysis, prototype support and validation. Many clients start with a feasibility study to protect a larger prototype or tooling decision.

PTL is an engineering design and development firm, not a manufacturer. We offer design, analysis, systems engineering, project management and prototype procurement capability in house, with a well established global network of manufacturing partners. Beyond prototyping, where production is part of the scope, we work with selected suppliers to retain continuity through the engineering program.
